I am by no means knowledgeable re: Middle Eastern war history, so please excuse my naiveté. While we know (we assume we know) where the USA and its allies' military funding comes from, it doesn't seem clear to me where the Taliban's funding originates. Aside from the illegal production and sale of opium and taxing poppy farmers, is it known if other entities are funneling money to the Taliban?
