Having been to Scandinavian countries, I easily understand why citizens have almost complete happiness with their socialistic systems.

They don't complain about paying income tax because the services they receive, at little or no cost, easily outweigh the amount of taxes paid to support the system.

Accessible/affordable post-secondary education and comprehensive healthcare are critical to the well-being of all citizens. Accommodations for those who become ill or frail, have an accident or become parents are also beneficial to the whole. Social support is critical to developing a united culture.

Yes, the cost of living can appear expensive, but it is offset by fair wages and good working conditions - facilitated through the pressures of human rights legislation and workplace unionization. Scandanavian type socialism does not tolerate slipshod operators who take advantage of somebody desperate to pay the rent or buy necessities.

Socialism is not communism! Louder for those in the back of the room.
