Nothing Wrong With Contrarians

Provided their logic bucket holds water

Both “this” and “that” can be true simultaneously. Experience and sound reasoning help us make the little leap to this conclusion.

Have you ever talked to somebody who is set like cement in an idea that’s leaking all over the place?

You know, that person convinced that any government involvement in an issue means a conspiracy developed to keep them dumb and down. Rather than accept conventional wisdom, science-based theory and strong evidence, they believe the opposite.

I know somebody who pushes her coarse, contrarian opinions and argues relentlessly with strangers on social media. Any interpretation different from her own is heckled and scoffed at.

She is fairly intelligent but has been spinning her wheels in defiance for decades. I cannot imagine any reason to carry a leaky bucket for 30 years. I guess she believes she is kicking at the dark.

Some of you might have seen the following insane rant on social media. True to form, my friend has pasted it to her profile. (Fair warning, if you are a spelling and grammar aficionado, you might be triggered!)
