Generations of men have been nurtured to believe that they are not responsible for this difficult, heart-rending work. Social norms excused them from such duties. These are not excuses; they are simply facts.

It is up to us, as influencers, to teach our male partners, sons and brothers that they are equally responsible for domestic and family chores — which includes eldercare. It is not easy, and the older men tend to buck about it, but we must continue to hold their feet to the fire for the sake of our mothers, daughters and sisters.
