The Climb
There is no way to get to the top of your mountain except to climb it.
It takes hard work, self-analysis, practice, patience, tenacity and gaining an understanding of the landscape before lacing up the boots and putting one foot in front of the other. Regardless of whether the climb is in one’s career, relationship, hobby or sport, the same principles apply.
Here’s the caveat:
We cannot get to the top by stepping over others.
We never completely reach the pinnacle if we are willing to step on people during the ascent. Even if we do get to our desired destination, we don’t truly ARRIVE unless we’ve taken each step caringly, fairly and ethically.
Climbing with others — side by side, shoulder to shoulder — is essential to enjoying a successful journey.
The most rewarding moments occur when we lift a mate, give a friend a hand, offer a boost to somebody who needs it or provide the tools others require to traverse rough terrain. Supporting each other keeps us all moving upward.
Reaching the top, enjoying the view and celebrating the victory is much sweeter when shared with those who have walked alongside us during the climb.
